Sketches for Design
Initially, an interview was performed with my client. From that, information was garnered in order to create a simple interface that would be pleasing to him.
The above pictures contain the information contained from the interview, as well as initial sketches based on that interview.
Prototype
The music button is a single button interface tailored to my clients range of interests. Specifically, it was noted that my client is learning to play the guitar, knows how to play the piano, and his favorite movie is "Inception". From these initial ideas, I tailored a button that, based on the proximity of the button, when it is pressed a different style of music will play as well as a short animation. And if indecision is the case, a pleasant surprise awaits.

Final Thoughts
I received some interesting feedback during my initial demo. Surprisingly many were happy with the simplicity of the button. Some thought the indecision aspect should have it's own animation, which I had considered, but declined to do due to time constraints. Transparency of the image, to get rid of the white background, came up, and originally was intended, but translating the image into WPF apparently disabled the transparent background and I did not have the time to fix that. Some people also liked the idea of implementing the teaching aspect to it, which would be a welcome addition.
Other suggestions included a more distinct background for the different sections, choice for different music, and adding more instruments. One interesting question did come up that made me think a bit, that being what if this was a 2 button project, instead of one. For 2 buttons, I think my implementation would be similar, but the music teach aspect might be easier to manage as there would be more semblance of choice involved.
